Antiochian Women’s Month

Antiochian WomenThe month of March, designated as Antiochian Women Month by His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph, is a time when the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women of North America encourage their sisters in Christ to participate in the Liturgy and minister in their parishes and their communities.

With this focus in mind, the women of our parish are encouraged to increase their involvement in the Church by participating in at least one of the following upcoming activities:

  • Sundays in March: Ladies, if you would like to participate by greeting, ushering, passing the tray, or distributing the announcements during the month of March, please contact Barb Thomas.

 

  • Hosting Akathist: St. Nicholas will be hosting the Pan-Orthodox Akathist service on Friday, March 16 and providing a Lenten dessert reception following the service. If would like to chair this event or can help with set up, clean up  or can provide a Lenten dessert, appetizer, or fruit tray please contact Jenny Khorey.

 

  • What’s in the Box? All we know is that it is guaranteed to be great!  A Mystery Box drawing will occur each Sunday in March during Coffee Hour. What’s in the mystery box is —well a mystery until the winning ticket is drawn and the unwrapping occurs!As you enter Coffee Hour, you will have the opportunity to purchase one ticket for $1.00 or 6 tickets for $5.00. Fr. Michael will draw the winning ticket during each Coffee Hour.  Each Sunday will feature a different “mystery”! This fun event is designed to raise money for our 2018 Antiochian Women NAB Project, Strengthening the Ministries of our Church – Vocations.  Join the fun while supporting the Women of St. Nicholas!

 

Our goal is for every woman to participate in at least one activity. If you cannot participate in one of the above activities, please contact the Church Office to learn of other areas of need.

Each year the Archdiocese asks the Antiochian Women to focus fundraising efforts on a specific project. This year the project, 2018 Antiochian Women NAB Project, Strengthening the Ministries of our Church – Vocations.
