Egg Tempera Workshops
The following classes are being offered for students who desire to be engaged in exercises to strengthen their knowledge and skills in color and created light as applied in the methods of the Prosopon School of Iconology icon writing and will be good preparation for anyone interested in the writing of icons.
EGG TEMPERA COLOR WORKSHOP: August 24-26, 2017
Color in Icon: Pigments, mixing colors. Qualities of Roskrysh. Basic concept of antinomy
of color.
In this class, students will study qualities of different types of pigments, learn basic principles of mixing and layering of colors. Students will be introduced to the principles of antinomy of color, learn how to create a harmonious Roskrysh, practice balancing colors with floats.

EGG TEMPERA HIGHLIGHTS WORKSHOP: August 28-30, 2017
Highlights on Garments: Comparative study of Iconic Highlights, with special attention to the II Highlight.
In this class, students will study the difference of representation of three levels of created light in iconography, using different principles of application of the three highlights. Students will learn how to use antinomy of color in highlight, and practice one of the most challenging step of iconography – II highlight on garment. Students will learn and practice making facets of light of different quality.
