“Kids just wanna have fun!”  At St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church they do. They have faith and fun in one.

The teens have their own “cool” hangout at church.  There they meet to plan out their activities.  Recently, they helped stage a hot rivalry showdown between U of M and MSU alums.  Church members displayed their “true colors” when they anted up big for their favorite school.  Money raised is going to pay for scholarships to Orthodox Camp this summer, sponsor an orphan abroad, and support a community project close to home.

The teens visit an Orthodox Monastery in Michigan and host a retreat with kids from other Orthodox Churches in the state.  They put on bake sales and parties for the younger children at church.  They hold all-night vigils during the Holy Season, perform in Christmas Pageants, and go caroling to our shut-ins. They compete in Orthodox Oratorical Contests and a Bible Bowl.

We have a great group of teens with hearts of gold.
